About our pastors

Brian and Jamie share a story of friendship, addiction, and transformation that spans over 30+ years. Their stories of addiction and redemption are being used by God to show others that no one is too far gone and that He doesn't just call the qualified, but qualifies the called!

“But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong.”

1 Corinthians 1:27

redeemed lives

Pastors Brian and Jamie met during their sophomore year at New Bedford High School. Brian was a quiet kid from Acushnet who went to a small Catholic school his entire life. Jamie grew up in New Bedford, played sports and by the time he had met Brian was already drinking and using and selling drugs. Jamie took Brian under his wing and introduced him to this world and it wasn't long before Brian fully embraced the lifestyle.

Fast forward about 15 years. Brian and Jamie are young adults trying to navigate life while both battling addictions to drugs and alcohol. After multiple failed attempts at recovery, Brian entered the ministry of Teen Challenge. He completed the program and in the process found an intimate relationship with Jesus Christ. This would transform his life so radically that Jamie, who was still struggling and failing in his own recovery, would make the decision to also give Teen Challenge a try.

Through the ministry of Teen Challenge, God not only delivered these two men from addiction, but also revealed their gifts and gave them both a desire to serve Him. Brian took over as the Pastor at SCCC in 2009 and eventually Jamie would come on as the Associate Pastor in 2017.

We like to joke and say that at one time, Jamie led Brian into the dark, but through the grace of God and transforming power of the Gospel, Brian now leads Jamie into His magnificent light!

"Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine..."
