The following are our core beliefs as a church family.
We Believe There’s Only One God
He is the all-powerful, all-knowing God who created everything; the God who inspired men to write the Bible; the God who came to earth in human form as Jesus Christ. We believe this God is compassionate, loving, and wise. He hears and answers prayer. He offers eternal hope that goes beyond anything this world can offer.
We Believe You Matter To God
The Bible says the same awesome God who created the universe created you, too. Isn’t it logical that he wants to stay in touch? Even if you feel small and insignificant, God is interested in you. In fact, the Bible says he already knows everything about you—even the exact number of hairs on your head. Think about it. The God who made you wants to care for you; communicate with you; and be a powerful, minute-by-minute presence in your life. Here’s what’s best. God wants to give your life meaning and significance with a cause worth living for; a purpose larger than yourself; and a chance to do something with enormous, lasting value.
We Believe The Bible
We think God’s word is relevant today and we teach it that way. It’s the ultimate source of truth and has the power to change lives. We believe the Bible contains all the guidelines we need to live a happy, satisfying life. It tells us how to relate to others. It tells us how to marry and how to raise our children. The Bible instructs us to develop a God-centered value system; how to handle conflict with our boss; how to cope with stress and how to reach out to others in love. The Bible tells us that God forgives us when we ask Him to and that He expects us to forgive each other the same way.
We Believe The Good News
Admit it. All of us make bad choices at some time or another. Big or small, these “sins” separate us from God, who is perfect. And like it or not, we deserve to be punished. But the Bible says that by voluntarily dying on the cross, Jesus Christ has already paid the penalty for our sins. That means anyone who accepts his free gift of salvation can be totally forgiven — “born again” — and united with God forever.
“For God loved the world so much that He gave His one and only Son, so that whoever believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn it, but to save it.”
John 3:16 & 17
Salvation is totally free, and it’s available right now. Receiving it is as simple as believing with all your heart that Jesus is the Son of God, that he lived a perfect life, that he died in your place, and that he rose from the dead. Then, by personally accepting his invitation, you surrender your life to his leadership.
We Believe That What You Do Next Counts Forever
If you’re ready to become a Christian, a follower of Jesus, pray something like this in your own words . . .
“Dear God, I know that I’m a sinner and that I cannot save myself. But I believe you loved me enough to send Jesus to die on the cross for my mistakes and that you raised him from the dead. Right here and now, I ask you to forgive my sins, come into my heart, and take over my life. Be the manager of everything I think and say and do from now on. Thank you.”
“For if you confess with your mouth that Jesus Christ is your Lord, and believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it’s by believing in his heart that a man becomes right with God, and with his mouth he tells others about his faith.”
Romans 10:9 & 10
If you’ve decided to trust Jesus with your life, congratulations, and welcome to God’s family! To grow in your new relationship, have daily conversations with God (prayer), study His plan for your life (the Bible), and connect with other believers (the local church).
